Born in Virginia, Rebecca grew up in Raleigh, NC. After college, she worked at Vogue in San Francisco and a sanctuary for pregnant teens in New York. She later taught English to budding engineers and worked as a copy editor and advice columnist for Teen in Los Angeles. Her fiction, personal essays, and poetry explore marriage, parenting, adolescence, obsession, and grief. When not writing, she reads manuscripts for The Sun and watches the great blue herons that forage the wetlands near her Chatham County home.
